But that is not all! After announcing two huge concerts at Yankee Stadium and weighing in on the
Kendrick/Drake spat stating that his “concerned technology and ‘negative stuff’ are
ruining the fun of rap battles, Sean Carter the 25-time Grammy winner, has added a third
‘Extra Innings’ show to his summer stint at “the House that Derek Jeter built.” This is another big win for East Coast Rap, as Jaÿ is bringing it back home to NYC.

Jaÿ-Z is scheduled to perform on May 30th, with more details on the other performance expected to be
announced soon. Additionally a new residency was announced putting Jaÿ-Z live at the forefront in his hometown. The rapper has officially added a third Yankee Stadium concert to his upcoming hometown residency following unparalleled fan demand. Billed by Roc Nation as “Extra Innings,” the newly announced performance serves as a massive extension of his monumental shows celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. In regards to his history with Yankee Stadium, the “December 4th” rapper has played the 46,537-seat venue twice before. Tickets officially on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster as well as trusted secondary market sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats. This information was sourced by media entity The NYPost.
A nod to his album Reasonable Doubt, Jay-Z opts for a new moniker to launch this year’s promotional run for Memorial Day weekend. The monumental occasion marks the three time Grammy Award winning group’s and Jay Z’s first live performance in over a decade, with this year’s picnic relocating to its new home since its launch in 2017 at the Philadelphia Belmont. Jay-Z is gearing up for a major 2026, as he sat down with GQ for his first cover story in nearly a decade. This year’s venue offers a welcome change for fans after multiple complaints about its usual location, Mann Center, which festival-goers say caused delays in entry, forcing ticket holders to wait in
line for hours. Aiming to enhance its fan experience, The Roots Picnic, which has
hosted headliners such as Meek Mill, Solange, Lenny Kravitz, Usher, and more, comes
as twenty-five-time Grammy Award winner Jay Z commemorates the release of his
debut album Reasonable Doubt.
May 30th’s performance will be highly anticipated for HOV fans, following rumors of a
potential album release by the MC, which were quickly denied by representatives of his
label, Roc Nation, in 2024. Still, taking the stage at the Roots Festival will offer a sign of
hope for HOV fans, marking his first festival showcase since taking the stage with
Pharrell Williams at the Something in the Water Tour in 2019.
